In 1949, Clément Mathieu, an unemployed music teacher, takes a job as a supervisor at a boarding school for troubled boys. Faced with the authoritarian methods of the school’s headmaster, he decides to form a choir.

Through music, he gradually earns the students’ trust and transforms their daily lives.
