Nikola Spasić

Nikola Spasić is an award-winning Serbian film director, editor, producer, and selector of the main competitive selection at the second Novi Sad Film Festival.

He completed his degree in directing at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts, studied editing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, and is presently completing his last year of PhD studies at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts in the dramatic arts sector. He teaches multimedia design as an assistant professor at the Belgrade Faculty of Computing.

In addition to winning multiple awards, his feature film "Kristina" (2022) was screened at numerous film festivals worldwide and received special recognition from the young jury at the Muestra de Cinema de Lanzarote, the Best Emerging Director Award at the Seville European Film Festival, the Best Director Award at the March festival, and two awards for the best domestic and best foreign film at the Merlinka festival in Belgrade. Many European VOD services, including Universcine, Sooner, FilmIn, LMC, and Pickbox, screened the movie.

Nikola's documentary film "Why Dragan Made an Orchestra" (2017) won several awards, including the main award and the audience award at the Cinema City festival, and was shown on important television stations in the region, such as RTS, RTRS, RTVFBIH, HRT, Al Jazeera Balkans, Film Club, and Klasik TV.

He has been involved in the creation of other writers' projects as well as developing his own since 2013 as one of the founders of the Novi Sad-based production business REZON. He has written and produced a number of radio dramas, theater plays, and short films.

He is a member of documentary filmmaker DokSrbija and the Association of Directors.
