Karthik Subbaraj, an Engineer by profession steered into filmmaking which is his childhood passion.

His first film Pizza (2012) sets the perfect stage for his future by becoming a blockbuster and the film was praised widely for its unique storytelling. From there on, he made the cult classic Jigarthanda which was again a blockbuster and garnered the attention of every film maker. He continued to make family drama Iraivi followed by an experimental horror film Mercury which were all critically acclaimed films.

He then directed Petta, Superstar Rajnikanth movie followed by Major stars like Dhanush in Jagame Thanthiram, Vikram in Mahaan and Raghava Lawrence in Jigarthanda Double X. He is one of the founder of Stone bench Pvt Ltd, a production house to nurture young talents under his guidance.

Stone bench collectively made 23 films including digital contents, OTT films and has introduced several talents ranging from directors, actors, music directors, cinematographers and editors to name a few.
