Biography
Vera Vlajić je srpska scenaristkinja, ilustratorka, animatorka i filmska rediteljka. Diplomirala je istoriju umetnosti na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu, a karijeru nezavisne filmske autorke započela je 1975. godine u Dunav filmu, gde je radila više od dve decenije.
Od 1989. do 2003. godine radila je kao urednica i rediteljka na Televiziji Beograd RTS-a, gde je autorka serijala od 15 epizoda Pola veka srpske animacije (2002–2003). Godine 1993. osnovala je RAF-A2, radionicu animacije za decu i mlade koja se bavi i produkcijom filmova, a koju i danas vodi.
Od 2003. do 2007. godine bila je umetnička direktorka Beogradskog festivala dokumentarnog i kratkometražnog filma, a od 2008. do 2012. predsednica Udruženja filmskih umetnika Srbije (UFUS). Od 2012. godine radi na filmskim projektima produkcijske kuće Movie Drum iz Beograda.
Njeni filmovi prikazivani su na festivalima u Srbiji i širom sveta, između ostalih u Berlinu, Anesiju, Zagrebu, Čikagu, Kairu, Moskvi, Los Anđelesu, Beču, Barseloni i Parizu.
Vera Vlajić is a Serbian screenwriter, illustrator, animator, and film director.
She graduated in Art History from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade and began her career as an independent filmmaker at Dunav Film in 1975, where she worked for more than two decades.
From 1989 to 2003, she worked as an editor and director at RTS Television Belgrade, where she created the 15-episode series Half a Century of Serbian Animation (2002–2003). In 1993, she founded and continues to lead RAF-A2, an animation workshop for children and young people that also produces films.
She served as Artistic Director of the Belgrade Festival of Documentary and Short Film from 2003 to 2007 and as President of the Association of Film Artists of Serbia (UFUS) from 2008 to 2012. Since 2012, she has worked on film projects produced by Movie Drum in Belgrade.
Her films have been screened at festivals in Serbia and internationally, including in Berlin, Annecy, Zagreb, Chicago, Cairo, Moscow, Los Angeles, Vienna, Barcelona, and Paris.
