Biography

Nađa Petrović je dramaturškinja, rediteljka i spisateljica. Diplomirala je dramaturgiju, a potom završila master studije filmske i televizijske režije na Fakultetu dramskih umetnosti u Beogradu.

Već sa 16 godina objavila je roman To je to (Samizdat B92, 2015), kojim je osvojila treće mesto na konkursu „Mladi književni supertalenti“. Njen drugi roman, Meduze žive zauvek dok ih ne uhvate (Geopoetika, 2023), našao se u užem izboru za NIN-ovu nagradu, nagradu „Beogradski pobednik“ i u najužem izboru za nagradu „Vladan Desnica“. Za ovu knjigu dobila je nagradu „Grozdana Olujić“ za najbolju proznu knjigu 2023. godine.

Kratki igrani film Miris sveže farbe, koji je pisala i režirala, osvojio je Srce Sarajeva za najbolji studentski film na Sarajevo Film Festivalu 2024. godine. Njen dokumentarni film Drugi avgust premijerno je prikazan na Martovskom festivalu dokumentarnog filma 2023. godine, a potom i na više festivala.

Scenaristkinja je desetina kratkih filmova prikazanih na više od 100 festivala širom sveta, uključujući Sarajevo Film Festival, Les Arcs (Francuska), Beldocs i Bašta Fest, gde je osvojila i nagradu za najbolji scenario.

Jedna je od scenaristkinja serije Apsolutnih sto u režiji Srđana Golubovića i Ivana Kneževića. Ko-scenaristkinja je filmova Bela nedelja (r. Bojan Vuletić), Pre nego što zaspim (r. Senka Domanović), kao i novog dugometražnog filma Srđana Golubovića Tela.

Nađa Petrović is a screenwriter, director, and author. She graduated in Dramaturgy and later completed a Master’s degree in Film and TV Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.

At just 16, she published her debut novel That’s It (Samizdat B92, 2015), winning third place in the “Young Literary Supertalents” competition. Her second novel, Jellyfish Live Forever Unless Caught (Geopoetika, 2023), was shortlisted for the prestigious NIN Award, the “Belgrade Victor” Award, and was a finalist for the “Vladan Desnica” Award. She received the “Grozdana Olujić” Award for the best prose book of 2023.

Her short fiction film The Smell of Fresh Paint, which she wrote and directed, won the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Student Film at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2024. Her documentary August 2nd had its world premiere at the Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival (Martovski Festival) in 2023 and was screened at several other festivals.

She has written dozens of short films screened at over 100 international festivals, including Sarajevo Film Festival, Les Arcs (France), Beldocs, and Bašta Fest, where she won Best Screenplay.

Nađa is one of the writers of the TV series The Hundred Percent (dir. Srdan Golubović & Ivan Knežević), and co-writer of the feature films White Sunday (dir. Bojan Vuletić), Before I Fall Asleep (dir. Senka Domanović), and Bodies, the upcoming film by Srdan Golubović.
