Kajl Balda je reditelj i autor koji radi na polju animacije i igranog filma. Poznat po tome što velike, zabavne filmske priče spaja sa komedijom i iskrenim emocijama, režirao je filmove Minions, Despicable Me 3 i Minions: The Rise of Gru, pre nego što se okušao u igranom filmu sa ostvarenjem The Sheep Detectives.

Balda began his career as an animator at Industrial Light & Magic and Weta, where he worked on visual effects films during the rapid evolution of digital filmmaking. He later joined Pixar Animation Studios, contributing to films during the studio’s formative creative years as an animation director on films like Toy Story 2, A Bugs Life and Monsters Inc.
His work is often driven by outsiders, unlikely families, and characters improvising their way through chaos. Drawing from his background in animation, Balda brings a highly visual approach to storytelling while focusing on character, tone, and emotional clarity.
