Derek Horne je programski direktor Anapolis film festivala i Festivala animacije u Tampi, kao i selektor kratkometražnoih filmova na Internacionalnom filmskom festivalu u Santa Feu. Prethodno je radio kao selektor na Filmskom festivalu u Sarasoti, Filmskom festivalu u Njuport Biču i Filmskom festivalu dokumentarnog filma u Hot Springsu, a bio je angažovan i na Sandens film festivalu.
Horne se takođe bavio selekcijom i otkupom kratkih filmova za Shortbuzz.com, iCast.net i Atom Films. Bio je urednik Kodakovog časopisa posvećenog studentskoj filmskoj produkciji, pisao je za IndieWire i FilmInk.
Jedanaest godina bio je prvi Film Festival Specialist na College of Film and Media Arts Univerziteta Chapman. Trenutno je Associate Director of Distribution na School of Cinematic Arts Univerziteta Južne Kalifornije (USC), koja se prema rangiranju magazina The Hollywood Reporter kontinuirano nalazi na prvom mestu među filmskim školama u svetu.
Derek Horne is the Director of Programming for the Annapolis Film Festival and the Tampa Animation Festival and the Short Film Programmer for the Santa Fe International Film Festival.
Previously he was a programmer for the Sarasota Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, and he worked for the Sundance Film Festival. Prior to this, Horne worked in short film acquisitions with Shortbuzz.com, iCast.net, and Atom Films. Derek was the editor of Kodak’s student filmmaking magazine and has also written for IndieWire and FilmInk.
He was the inaugural Film Festival Specialist at Chapman University’s College of Film and Media Arts for 11 years and he is currently the Associate Director of Distribution at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts (consistently ranked the #1 film school in the world by The Hollywood Reporter).
