Biography
Bruto Pomeroj je nesvakidašnji spoj nasleđa Riohe i Heresa, rođen u Madridu i snažno povezan sa Bilbaom, što ga čini zaista jedinstvenom ličnošću.
Iako ga je u početku privlačilo novinarstvo, glumačku karijeru započeo je u baskijskoj pozorišnoj grupi Aquelarre. Kasnije se preselio u Madrid, tokom perioda demokratske tranzicije u Španiji, gde je osnovao knjižaru stripova Madrid Comics i istovremeno radio na dečjoj televizijskoj seriji Los Mundos de Yupi.
Poznato lice španske kinematografije i televizije, Pomeroj je radio kao epizodni glumac sa rediteljima kao što su Aleks de la Iglesijal, Havijer Feser i Albert Boadelja. Široj publici postao je poznat po ulozi inspektora Sabina Garsije u televizijskoj seriji El Comisario.
U novije vreme pojavljivao se u popularnim televizijskim serijama kao što su La que se avecina, El Pueblo i Cable Girls (Las Chicas del Cable), u kojoj tumači komesara Buendiju.
Dugi niz godina bavi se i režijom televizijskih i radio emisija posvećenih filmu i popularnoj kulturi, među kojima se posebno izdvajaju No Solo Cine i Cine de la Frontera. Za svoj rad kao filmski novinar i voditelj dobio je nagradu ASECAN za najbolji novinarski doprinos, koju dodeljuje Udruženje filmskih kritičara Andaluzije.

A curious blend of Rioja and Jerez heritage, born in Madrid and with strong ties to Bilbao, Bruto Pomeroy is truly a one-of-a-kind character.
Originally drawn to journalism, he began his acting career with the Basque theatre company Aquelarre. He later moved to Madrid during Spain's democratic transition, where he combined founding the Madrid Comics bookstore with his work on the children's television series Los Mundos de Yupi.
A familiar face in Spanish cinema and television, he has worked as a supporting actor with directors such as Álex de la Iglesia, Javier Fesser and Albert Boadella. He became widely known for his role as Sub-Inspector Sabino García in the long-running TV series El Comisario.
More recently, he has appeared in popular television series including La que se avecina, El Pueblo and Cable Girls (Las Chicas del Cable), where he plays Commissioner Buendía.
For many years, he has also directed television and radio programmes devoted to cinema and popular culture, most notably No Solo Cine and Cine de la Frontera. In recognition of his work as a film journalist and presenter, he received the ASECAN Award for Best Journalistic Contribution, presented by the Association of Film Writers of Andalusia.
He is also the co-director, alongside Ana Magallanes, of La Alfombra Colorá, a film festival dedicated to gender equality in cinema.
For the past twelve years, Bruto Pomeroy has served as Director of the Film School at the University of Cádiz.
