Sonja Leštar

Sonja Leštar is a graduated actress, audio-visual artist and selector of the high school film selection of the second Novi Sad film festival.

She is a regular collaborator with Radio-Television Vojvodina. Among Sonja’s extensive theatrical experience, notable performances include The Taming of the Shrew, A Flea in the Ear, Hold On, and Grease. Sonja Leštar is also the author of the show Insomnia with Actors, which aired for eight years on Radio-Television Vojvodina.

She has been engaged in drama pedagogy for nearly two decades, starting in 2004. Her roles include facilitator and director of dramatic processes and performances with the Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Novi Sad (2004–2020), drama practitioner with the organization A Happy Little Colony (2010–2020), workshop leader and director of forum theatre Stop Violence Against Women (2017), trainer for the project on violence prevention using forum theatre in collaboration with UNICEF (2020–2021), drama practitioner for the project Against the Wind – Response to the Slet as part of Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture (2022), and drama practitioner and director of the performance Unbaptized Days with students of Gymnasium "Laza Kostić" (2023). Leštar is also director of the play Special Ones.
