Leon Aksin is the selector of the Game Cinematics selection of the second Novi Sad Film Festival.
Leon works in the animation industry as a 3D Layout Artist at Platige Image, where he joined in July 2021. He is part of a department that produces cinematics for video games and visual effects for films and TV series around the world. He has worked and continues to work on franchises such as Call of Duty, The Witcher, Company of Heroes, Shadow and Bone, Time Bandits, as well as other projects for Netflix, Apple TV, Activision, and SEGA.
He earned his master's degree in Animated Film from the University of Zagreb, Academy of Fine Arts, and previously completed his bachelor's studies in Animation and Visual Effects at the University of Novi Sad, Academy of Arts. During his studies, his animated films were showcased at film festivals across Europe, including Animateka in Ljubljana, the Animated Film Festival in Neum, and Animfest in Athens.
His short animated film Overnight, created during his first year of master's studies in Zagreb, won the Best Animated Film Award at the Swindon Film Festival in the UK in July 2020. In October 2021, he was engaged as a professional associate in the Animation and Visual Effects department at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.
