During his nearly four-decade-long musical career, Damir Urban became synonymous with high-quality emotional music. His path encompassed various styles, making him a versatile artist and an innovator in the modern music scene. He came close to the seventh art by adapting the famous song Ne brini by the Belgrade band U škripcu for the film Boys from Marx and Engels Street..

In 1986, the band Laufer and the song Budi moja voda (“Be My Water“) received an award from Radio Velika Gorica and became the hit of the year. Not long after, the band began a new chapter under the name Urban & 4, and their first album, Otrovna kiša (“Poisonous Rain“), was released immediately after the excellent collaboration with the Rijeka band En Face on the song S dlana Boga pala (“Fallen From God’s Palm“), za koju osvajaju Porin, najugledniju hrvatsku muzičku nagradu.

Narednih godina, nagrade počinju da se nižu, pa je Urban sa svojim sastavom postao vlasnik nekoliko Porina, između ostalog, i za album Žena dijete (“Woman Child“), which is considered a masterpiece of Croatian music and one of the ten best albums of the decade.

The string ensemble Camerata Novi Sad, consisting of the best young musicians of the Novi Sad Academy of Arts, established itself during its two decades of existence by performing the most demanding pieces of the classical repertoire and achieving numerous successes performing with renowned soloists.
