For the second year in a row, the Novi Sad Film Festival justifies its epithet of internationality with film productions and creators from as many as four continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. From September 18 to 22 in Novi Sad,this film festival will open to the public with as many as three regional and four national premieres,and this year's laureate will be the man who is said to have enabled Superman to fly, the famous Zoran Perišić,director of visual effects and Oscar winner for technical achievements for the legendary film Superman. 

In the main selection, Oscar nominees, award-winning directors, debut works...

In the main, competitive international selection, which represents the most successful feature films by directors from all over the world, the following productions will have their national premieres: Voy, Voy, Voy! (Egypt), a true story and Egyptian candidate for last year's Oscar, multi-awarded director Omar Hilal, then this year's achievement, which has already caused enthusiasm at the Pula Film Festival Šalša (Croatia), a horror-comedy by director Dražen Žarković, who gathered collaborators from the entire region: Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The other two national premieres are united by the fact that they are the debut feature films of those directors, namely Lena and Vladimir (North Macedonia), directed by Igor Aleksov, and The Quiet Maid (Spain), a satirical drama directed by Miguel Faus.

The international competition part of the second edition of the Novi Sad film festival also brings three regional premieres, namely: HWJN (Saudi Arabia), the third feature film by director Yasir Alyasiri, an experienced filmmaker whose works have already won audiences at numerous international competitions, then Her body ( Slovakia and the Czech Republic), by the Czech writer and director Natálie Císařovská, who proved to be very successful in short and documentary films, that this would now be her debut production and Jigarthanda Double X (India), a Tarantino Western comedy-drama directed by Karthik Subaraj, for which It is interesting that the legend of world theater, Clint Eastwood, appears digitally reconstructed.

The international film selector is Nikola Spasić, an award-winning Serbian film director, editor, and producer. The prizes awarded in this main competition selection are: Best Film Award, Best Director Award, Audience Award, and Special Mention.

The only film festival in Serbia with a special selection for the combination of cinematography and the IT sector 

Game cinematics connects gaming and film and promotes cooperation between the IT scene and cinematography. With this international selection, the Novi Sad Film Festival immediately opens up space for the presentation, better acquaintance, and exchange of experiences of creators from the world of gaming and film; thus, Novi Sad follows world trends. As one of the most developed segments of the economy, the IT industry today is also an integral part of the film industry, which is why this program, from the first edition of the festival, has been an important part. The selector is Leon Askin, winner of the award for the best animated film at the film festival in Swindon, Great Britain, and expert associate at the Animation and Visual Effects department at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. His animated films have been shown at film festivals throughout Europe.

The Novi Sad Film Festival also launches a podcast 

In cooperation with Radio Television of Vojvodina, the Novi Sad Film Festival is launching a podcast about film, its current state, challenges, development, and future, with experts from various fields related to the creation of the seventh art. The premiere of the podcast will be a week before the start of the festival, on September 12, on the Novi Sad Film Festival YouTube channel.

We remind you that it is already known that the top Balkan artist, Božo Vrećo, accompanied by the Camerata Novi Sad orchestra, will close this year's Novi Sad film festival on the Great Stage of the Serbian National Theater, and tickets can be found at Gigstix sales points and online.
